ABOUT ABOUT

Tovah Feldshuh: The Mother, Daughter and Other Roles She’s Played

6:30 PM EST

From Golda to Ginsburg, Yentl to Mama Rose, from The Walking Dead to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, with Law & Order sprinkled in between, Tovah Feldshuh has always played powerful women who aren’t afraid to sit at the table with the big boys and rule their world. But offstage, Tovah struggled to fulfill the one role she never auditioned for: Lily Feldshuh’s only daughter.

The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center is honored to welcome back Tovah as she shares — and even performs — hilarious anecdotes about her fraught relationship and ultimate reconciliation with her mother, as told in her new book, Lilyville: Mother, Daughter, and Other Roles I've Played. Tovah speaks of her 50-year career and the lessons she has learned, often the hard way, about how to live life in the spotlight, strive for excellence and still get along with your mother.

Actress, singer and playwright, Tovah Feldshuh is a six-time Tony and Emmy nominee for her work on Broadway, including Yentl and Golda’s Balcony, and on television, from Holocaust to Law & Order.

Come get this first look into a secret world of a Broadway star and a first class ticket to Lilyville.
